Pollution is something that affects us all, and perhaps more importantly the future generations who will take the baton of a world that we shaped. These are the countries with the highest level of carbon dioxide emissions from all forms of industry and fossil fuel consumption. The data was released by the Department of Energy in the United States.
Mexico is a country moving quickly up the rankings, and the increase in industrialisation and congested cities mean that they emit 489 million tonnes of greenhouse gases per year.
9. United Kingdom
The UK creates 490 million tonnes of Co2 yearly. The government is making every effort to combat air pollution, and energy efficiency is said to be improving, but transportation pollution is a major problem and is still on the rise.
