Let’s take one last dunk into winter before that blessed sunshine takes over. It is on it’s way, isn’t it?
Every February the Takhini Hot Pools in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada host a Hair Freezing Contest, because when it’s that cold you may as well find a way to make it fun.
Contestants dunk their hair in the hot water (usually 40° Celsius/104° Fahrenheit) and then let it freeze in the chilly air above (temperatures in Feb. can easily dip below -30° Celsius/-22° Fahrenheit). Contestants are permitted to mold and style their hair as it freezes.
