The Tomb Raider star has confirmed she wants to move permanently off-screen after 2015 Cleopatra film, to focus on her writing and directing.
The 38 year old has revealed she plans to withdraw permanently from acting and move behind the camera after a final appearance in biopic film ‘Cleopatra’. She admitted in an interview with Du Jour magazine that she’s actually never been fond of being of the centre of attention, and would enjoy a career in writing and directing significantly more.
“I’ve never been comfortable as an actor; I’ve never loved being in front of the camera,” she says, “I didn’t ever think I could direct, but I hope I’m able to have a career at it because I’m much happier.”
On the 2015 film ‘Cleopatra’ she explained: “It’s one of those that you think maybe that’s the one you put everything into and that’s where you end it, that’s where you finish – in a great way,”
